A MAN is facing a jail term after he raced his Holden sedan against another car, doing at least 150 kmh in a 90 kmh zone on Main Road at Jesmond in November.

Timothy Shawn Morrow, 27, of Rutherford, pleaded guilty to driving in a manner dangerous on November 21 last year.

Magistrate Michael Morahan told him that, with other high-speeding offences on his record, he could be sent to jail.

"You are obviously an absolute menace on the road," Mr Morahan said.

Morrow will be sentenced on March 4.
