Baptist Carers To Open Their Doors

BAPTIST Community Services (BCS), a leading provider of aged and community care services in the Hunter, has organised two open days for November.
BCS assists nearly 500 individuals and their families with in-home care through its care centre based at Adamstown. A further 227 residents are cared for at its residential facilities at Warabrook and Mayfield. Open days offer the opportunity for interested people to meet with staff over a cuppa and find out how BCS can assist with current and future care needs.Care centre staff specialise in helping people stay at home longer through in-home care options in personal care, domestic assistance, respite, disability, dementia and nursing-level care programs.Guided tours of BCS residential facilities will offer a first-hand look at low-care hostel through to high-care nursing home services.The BCS respite program, which allows carers and loved ones alike a much-needed break, and the organisation's award-winning dementia care philosophy, "Respect", will be explained.At the Mayfield facility Kara, visitors will be able to see the BCS dental hygiene initiative providing dental care to residents.Light refreshments will be provided and transport may be available on request.Wednesday, November 19, will be open day at BCS Warabrook, and Friday, November 21, at BCS Kara, from 10.30am to 2.30pm.To register interest and book a visit, contact Sandra on 4903 6800 or by email at SDrew@bcs.org.au by Monday, November 17.
